Student Code of Conduct

·       Students must maintain discipline, peace, and order within the college campus.
·       Only proper and approved uniforms should be worn inside the college premises.
·       Students should not participate in any activities that may affect the cleanliness or environment of the college.
·       Students must wear their identity cards at all times inside the campus.
·       Students involved in malpractice during Internal Examinations or Madurai Kamaraj University Examinations will be permanently dismissed from the college.
·       Students should not arrive late to college on regular working days or on the reopening day after holidays.
·       Clothing with political or caste-based slogans or logos is strictly prohibited.
·       Students participating in ragging or in activities involving religious or caste-based discrimination or social violence will be immediately dismissed from the college.
·       Students should not take leave unnecessarily for festivals or celebrations during working days.
·       Leave will not be granted on working Saturdays.
·       Students must not extend their leave period beyond what is approved.
·       Leave applications will not be accepted through phone calls.
·       Students should engage only in productive activities such as sports, physical exercises, and reading habit.
·       Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, and iPads are strictly prohibited. Confiscated devices will be released only after paying the prescribed fine.
·       Students must not lend or borrow money from fellow students.
·       All college rules and regulations must be strictly followed.
·       Fees paid to the college will not be refunded under any circumstances.
·       Students involved in smoking, cheating, stealing, consumption of alcohol or drugs, damaging college property, or indulging in any activity that harms the reputation of the college—inside or outside the campus—will be permanently dismissed.
·       Students must handle all college property with care and avoid causing any damage.
·       Students should not carry excess cash or wear expensive jewelry.
·       Students must show respect to teachers, maintain silence in the classroom, and pay full attention to lessons.
·       Students should always be willing to participate in social service activities within the college and nearby rural areas.
·       Laptops and cameras must be used only for educational purposes and with proper permission.
·       Students should not waste time in the classroom and must remain attentive during lessons.


ATTENDANCE
·       Every Student is expected to attend classes regularly and punctually.
·       Students are not permitted to absent themselves from classes without getting prior permission /leave.
·       Leave letter should be submitted previous day to the head of the department.
·       In all case students should be obtained leave in advance. In case of emergency or unforeseen circumstances as in the case of illness, leave application should be submitted when he/she comes to the college.
·       The Principal may call for a medical certificate in support of an application for leave on grounds of illness.
·       The minimum attendance prescribed by the University for Admission to University Examination is 75% of the number of working days.
·       These regulations come into effect from the commencement of classes after the reopening of the College.


NEW NORMS REGARDING ATTENDANCE
a) Those students who have attended the classes for 68 days (75%) and above will be permitted to appear for the ensuing University Examinations without any preconditions.
b) Those students who have attended the classes for 67 days and less, but 59 days (65%) and above will be permitted to apply for exemption in the prescribed form to the University along with fees Rs.360/- with the specific remarks of the Principal for condonation of attendance.
c) Those students who have attended the classes for 58 days and less, but 45 days (50%) and above cannot appear for University examinations provided they can appear for next examinations by paying of Rs.600/- with special permission along with proper documents for sufficient reasons for their absence.
d) Those students who have put in 44 days of attendance and less have to repeat the whole semester.
